Cleanbox Technology and Launch Universal Interactive XR Hardware Hub

Creators of the XR Collaboration Global Resource Guide launch interactive XR Hardware Hub for business and education leaders with sponsorship and support from Cleanbox Technology.

January 8, 2021 – Toronto, Canada / Nashville, Tennessee

XR Collaboration is proud to announce the launch of its comprehensive, interactive XR Hardware Hub, made possible by the generous support of Cleanbox Technology, Inc. The XR Hardware Hub is an impartial resource designed for business and education leaders to access detailed information about features and compatibility across the full spectrum of leading augmented, virtual, and mixed reality (collectively XR) headsets, helping users choose the right device for their needs.

In 2020, XR Collaboration launched its Global Resource Guide and Collaborative Platform Directory to help organizations navigate the landscape of XR meeting platforms as they switch to remote work tools. Virtual meetings are now the new normal, driving sales of XR hardware and the need for reliable solutions for device hygiene. As the leading hospital-grade surface decontamination solution for XR device sanitization, Cleanbox Technology, Inc. is the ideal sponsor for the universal XR Hardware Hub.

“We are excited to have Cleanbox Technology Inc. as a collaborative sponsor for the XR Hardware Hub setting standards for hygiene solutions in our ecosystem,” says Julie Smithson, Chief Learning Officer and Co-Founder, MetaVRse, and Producer of XR Collaboration.

“We are pleased to take part in the next generation of XR Collaboration,” said Amy Hedrick, Co-Founder and CEO of Cleanbox Technology Inc. “In these uncertain times, it’s clear that the AR, VR, and MR worlds need to come together to assure that consumers and businesses alike have the tools needed to fill in the void that physical distance has created.”

Cleanbox is a premium, eco-friendly, smart tech hygiene solution for the decontamination of AR, MR, VR, and communication headsets, eyewear, surgical and protective masks, personal electronics, and other frequently used devices. In 2021, Cleanbox is releasing the new OmniClean device, providing 360-degree consistent and complete decontamination of any object.

The XR Collaboration Global Resource Guide is a project of XR Ignite, a community hub for startups, studios, and developers to connect with corporate customers who want to solve large business challenges. The XR Collaboration Global Resource Guide is free to users and provides comprehensive information about XR platforms and hardware for business and productivity.

Together with Cleanbox Technology’s hygiene solutions, the XR Collaboration Global Resource Guide, Platform Directory, and Hardware Hub equip organizations to migrate meetings and remote work to virtual platforms, resulting in increased efficiency and cost savings. In today’s global business environment, collaborating with partners from around the world in real time without leaving the office (or home office) is easier than ever.

May 28, 2020 – Toronto, Canada is proud to announce major updates to the free Global Resource Guide to XR Collaboration with the focus of providing a toolbox that is vitally important as Covid-19 continues to force organizations to work and learn from home.

This much needed initiative was created with the support of sponsors; Deutsche Telekom, Qualcomm, MetaVRse, XR Bootcamp and Cleanbox and the industry associations such as VR/AR Association (VRARA), Augmented World Expo (AWE), Augmented Reality Enterprise Alliance (AREA), and XR Access

“Due to the coronavirus pandemic all forms of telecommunications are more important than ever. We use our brains more effectively when we feel more proximity while communicating with a person that is not in the same room,” said Alexander Lautz, SVP of 5G, Deutsche Telekom. “However, today’s mass market tools – telephony, messaging, document sharing, video calling – lack the level of immersion needed by themselves. XR technology enablers are crucial to enhancing telecommunications services to offer digital social proximity. Deutsche Telekom is proud to sponsor the Global Resource Guide to XR Collaboration which educates us all on what is possible already today.”

Comprehensive guide to Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality collaboration tools launch to help organizations match their business and learning needs with the best solutions for remote meetings, training, education, medical and more

April 9, 2020 – Toronto, Canada

The Global Resource Guide to XR Collaboration is an interactive and comprehensive online tool that helps companies utilize XR collaboration and remote work tools for businesses.  The resource guide will serve as a central repository of detailed information about XR collaboration products and platforms and include an easy-to-use interactive tool for matching to specific business needs, a feature that will be available by the end of this month. All of this will be free to use and free to share.

XR collaboration products and platforms prove increasingly valuable for business users across all sectors of the economy. These can help teach classes, run workshops, deliver sales presentations and enable more personal meetings and real-time training. Sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, retail, marketing, education and healthcare can particularly benefit from XR with its enhanced real-time collaboration capabilities and ability to share valuable or sensitive information remotely. And beyond the necessity to enforce social distancing, XR collaboration platforms can create a tangible ROI to enterprises by reducing work travel expenses and more efficiently fostering real-time knowledge and expertise sharing. By 2030, VR and AR has the potential to add $1.5 trillion to the global economy, as projected by PwC’s "Seeing is Believing" report.

The Global Resource Guide to XR Collaboration aims to be a resource that outlines how immersive XR technologies can support human interaction and empower us to collectively leverage technology to support the way we work, learn and generally interact with one another in a viscerally more personal way, to help everyone make the best of an extraordinarily difficult situation. The global coalition believes that by coming together (virtually) we have the best chance of overcoming the great challenges that lie ahead.
